ACRC held the 20-30 Anti-Corruption Expert Academy completion ceremony

The 20-30 Anti-Corruption Expert Academy, which is aimed at enhancing anti-corruption capabilities of young people, turned out 63 graduates comprising college students, job seekers, and office workers.

The Anti-Corruption Training Institute of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC), hosted on Friday the completion ceremony for the 20-30 Anti-Corruption Expert Academy which ran for four days from the 4th of July in Seoul.

Launched in May of 2022, the training course is designed to raise awareness of students and young individuals in their 20s and early 30s about anti-corruption issues and instill the values of integrity in young people.

This year's first training program consisted of lectures on domestic and international trends in anti-corruption reforms, anti-corruption policies of the Korean government, business ethics, and whistleblowing systems delivered by various experts in the anti-corruption field.

In addition, the trainees participated in “action learning” where they were able to learn proactively through an analysis of the current status and problems of major corruption cases and discussions to solve the corruption problems.

On the last day of the training, the trainees came up with and presented plans to prevent and fight corruption in corruption-vulnerable industries based on the knowledge they had accumulated through the training course and the results of the three-day group discussions.

The presentations of each team were evaluated at the completion ceremony, and out of a total of 11 teams, three teams with outstanding presentations received certificates of merit awarded by the Chairman of the ACRC. In addition, all graduates were presented with a certificate of completion in the name of the Chairman of the ACRC.

Choi Myung-sik, acting executive director of the Anti-Corruption Training Institute, said, “I hope that the 20-30 Anti-Corruption Expert Academy will serve as an opportunity for young people to play a leading role in spreading a culture of fairness and integrity as members of our society.”
