ACRC Chairman elected as Vice-President of International Ombudsman Institute

Yang Kun, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of Korea, was elected as Vice-President of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) on June 11.


 


At the IOI general assembly session held in Stockholm, Sweden on June 8-12, Chairman Yang won overall support from member countries in the election according to ACRC officials. The participants in the general assembly voted to elect members of the board of directors, who then elected Vice-President by mutual vote.


 


The IOI General Assembly is held every four years with this year marking the 200th anniversary of the creation of the ombudsman. Established in 1978, the IOI is an international organization of 138 ombudsman offices worldwide.



 




ACRC Chairman Yang was elected as Vice-President of the IOI
at the general assembly meeting in Stockholm on June 11.
