Bangladesh government officials visit ACRC

Bangladesh public officials are listening to a presentation on ACRC’s anti-corruption policies
.


Senior officials from Bangladesh’s state and local governments visited the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) on 2 July to gain understanding about Korea’s anti-corruption system and policies. Their visit to the ACRC is part of a study tour for Bangladesh government officials, organized by Training and Technology Transfer of New Zealand.



The ACRC officials presented its major anti-corruption policies and achievements to the Bangladesh delegates, consisting of a total of 37 officials from various government agencies including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Dhaka city government. The delegation was led by Md. Ashraf Hossain, Course Advisor of the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, and Khurshed Alam Chowdhury, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Establishment.

As part of a technical assistance project conducted jointly with the UNDP, the ACRC provided a two weeks’ training course for officials of Bangladesh Anti-Corruption Commission in October 2008 to help build their anti-corruption capacity. Bangladesh delegates’ visits to the ACRC have recently been increasing, with this visit marking the sixth since 2008.
