ACRC launches Bangladeshi language service from Sep. 23th

From September 23th, The Anti-corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Youngran KIM) launches Bangladesh language(Bengali) service at the complaint intake window of “e-People” system which is an on-line portal to communicate between the government and the public.

Bangladesh people who reside in Korea and Korean people who reside in Bangladesh with poor Korean language can file on-line complaints in Bangladesh language to Korean government and receive replies in Bangladesh language.

Since June 2008, the ACRC have provided the service of foreign languages in which over 10,000 residents in Korea use. They can file complaints in their own language and receive replies in same language. At the moment, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Indonesian, Thai, Uzbekistan language service windows are open.

Launching Bangladesh language service, 1,200 Korean who reside in Bangladesh and 13,000 Bangladesh people who reside in Korea can enjoy improved communication service for protection of civil rights.

If you want to report complaints in Bangladesh language(Bengali) you can connect to www.epeople.go.kr, and click Bangladeshi national flag, then fill out the application form in Bengali. Replies for the complaints will be provided in both Bengali and Korean.

Note that “e-People” system which is a people’s communication window through internet to file complaints, suggestions, discussions of policies, corruption reports and administrative appeals against the government is connected with all the central government offices and provincial government offices, 114 oversea missions, Judiciary offices and 17 public corporations.

The ACRC official said “we will make active PRs for the service on oversea missions and embassies in Korea to let foreigners  use foreign language services at complaint window, and continuously will extend the service in other languages such as Cambodian and so on.
